Georgina Agnew FGA GD

Head of Silver & Jewellery Specialist | Silver & Jewellery

Georgina joined Roseberys in May 2019, working across both the Silver and Jewellery departments. She is an FGA qualified gemmologist (Gem-A Gemmology Diploma) and also holds a Graduate Diamond Diploma from the GIA and a Certificate of Expertise in Coloured Stones from Moscow State University. Prior to joining Roseberys, Georgina worked for Appleby Jewellers in Dublin and spent three years in Moscow, where repeated visits to the Kremlin Armoury and Diamond Fund ultimately proved the catalyst for a career change into silver and gemmology. As a Russian speaker, Georgina has a particular interest in 19th and 20th century Russian silver and particularly enjoys identifying and researching these pieces. Early spoons, novelty silver collectables and Tudor, Stuart and Georgian silverware are also favourite fields, and she is a keen afficionado of contemporary design and silversmithing. A Freeman of the Goldsmiths' Company, a committee member of the Silver Society and member of the Society of Jewellery Historians, Georgina has also worked as a literary translator, translating two works of historical non-fiction for a London publishing house.
