Alex joined Roseberys in 2017 as Modern Design consultant. After completing his History of Art degree in Exeter under Professor Sam Smiles he worked alongside his parents in starting and running Tremayne Applied Arts in St Ives. In 2005 he joined Bonhams Auctioneers in Bath where he helped to co-ordinate the secondary Contemporary Ceramics sales, before moving to Woolley and Wallis in Salisbury.
Alex started his own consultancy business specialising in the field of British Studio Ceramics and has dealt with the valuation and sale of several large collections. 3 years ago Alex catalogued the collection of the late Trevor Corser (Leach Pottery foreman) which included rare glaze recipe notebooks and hand built models of the Leach Pottery.
His main passion is St Ives school ceramics and paintings as well as Scandinavian design and he has appeared with Paul Martin discussing Troika Pottery on the BBC.
