A pair of Berlin (KPM) porcelain white figures emblematic of Air and Earth from a Series of the Elements, late 19th century or later, blue sceptre marks, impressed marks to Earth, after the original models by Friedrich Elias Meyer, Air modelled as a shepherd holding Polish Goat bagpipes under his left arm, Earth modelled as a shepherdess holding fruit in her hat, each standing on foliate scroll-moulded mound bases, Air 22.1 cm high; Earth 21cm high (2)
Provenance: Works of Art from the Schroder Collection.
Note: The original 18th century models were produced by the Gotzkowsky porcelain factory in Berlin between 1761 and 1763. An 18th century set of the Four Elements is illustrated by Erich Kollmann and Margarete Jarchow, Berliner Porzellan, Munich, 1987, p. 117, fig. 66.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
