ROSEBERYS LONDON: On Tuesday 15 March, Roseberys presents the Jewellery & Watches auction. The sale will include 320 lots in total, ranging in estimates from £80 up to £12,000.

Mark Bowis, Head of department comments: ‘The forthcoming Jewellery & Watches sale this March presents an array of stylish jewels dating from the 18th to the 21st century. Notable designers include Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Kutchinsky. Further highlights include a single owner collection of jewels by British jeweller Kiki McDonough, and pieces by Theo Fennel, Stephen Webster and Elizabeth Gage. Yellow gold jewels from the 1940s through to the 1980s predominate showcasing the enduring popularity for the warm hues of gold, encompassing Art Deco cocktail rings and a 1950s jarretiere bracelet. The sale also included an Edwardian moonstone and diamond collier de chien and a pair of Portuguese chrysoberyl earrings dating to the 1780s.’

Lot 318 on offer is an amethyst and diamond parure, by the iconic British Luxury Brand Asprey. Of flower head design, the set with marquise-shaped amethysts for the petals, the centres pave-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, comprising a necklace, bracelet and pair of ear clips, are all signed Asprey, with Italian Maker's marks. This lot that comes with its original case has an estimate of £8,000 - £12,000.  

(Lot 320) Entered onto the market with a pre-sale guide price of £3,000 -£5,000, and the final lot of the sale, is an elegant moonstone, diamond and cultured pearl collier de chien. Centering on two hinged rectangular plaques of open work trellis design set with circular- and single-cut diamonds and cabochon moonstones, to an eight-row cultured pearl collar, this necklace was made in 1900 and later.

Coming with an estimate of £2,500 - £3,500 is lot 314. A Victorian gold collar, c. 1876, designed as a series of pierced scroll motifs is detachable and can be made into a pair of bracelets. Each section comes with registration marks for January 1876. The fitted case is stamped Geo. Edwards & Sons, 92 Buchanan St, Glasgow & 19 Poultry London.

Lot 317 on offer is a pair of elegant silver and chrysoberyl pendent earrings, Portuguese, dating from the second half of the 18th century.  The earrings that come with an estimate of £2,000 - £3,000, each display a stylised bow design, suspending a navette-shaped pendent drop, to a similarly shaped surmount, set with foil backed mixed-cut chrysoberyl, later screw fittings, measuring 8.5cm in length. Later fitted Harvey & Gore case, the earrings come accompanied by original Harvey & Gore receipt dated 1981. 

Lot 273 on offer within the sale is a diamond jarretiere bracelet, c. 1950. The clasp of the bracelet is of open work bow design accented with circular-cut diamonds. This sophisticated bracelet has an estimate of £2,500 - £3,500.

(Lot 277) A diamond eternity ring, by Tiffany & Co, Schlumberger, set with brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Tiffany & Co Schlumberger, comes with an estimated price of £3,000 - £4,000. As one of the twentieth century’s most gifted artists, Jean Schlumberger created fantastic designs that transformed objects to mesmerising beauty. With gold and dazzling gemstones as his palette, he created bejewelled statement designs, such as the lot on offer, unrivalled in the world of jewellery design.

Lot 266, an Arts & Crafts, gem-set bracelet, created in 1950, attributed to Dorrie Nossiter, has an estimate of £3,000 - £5,000. The central openwork panel is set with a floral cluster of gemstones including: chrysoberyl cat's eye, pink tourmaline, cabochon citrine, green zircon, and pearls, with bow motif, to matching cluster articulated bracelet and comes with Dibdin & Co case. Dorrie Nossiter (1893-1977) was a contemporary of Sybil Dunlop and trained at the Municipal School of Art in Birmingham. Her work was inspired by nature and she is well known for incorporating a rich selection of coloured gem stones set in asymmetric designs, as displayed in the bracelet on offer.

Lot 257, a 'No Regrets', suite of three crystal haze and brilliant-cut diamond rings, by Stephen Webster, each set with a facetted coloured foiled quartz framed with brilliant-cut diamonds, all with maker's mark and British hallmarks for 18k gold, come with a pre-sale price guide of £1,000 - £1,500. London based, luxury jewellery designer Stephen Webster is internationally renowned for his fearless design, traditional craftsmanship, cutting-edge processes, and commitment to using responsibly and ethically sourced materials.

(Lot 289) This 'So Pretty', rutilated cabochon quartz and diamond ring, by Cartier, centring on a circular, rutilated cabochon quartz, framed by brilliant-cut diamonds to the shoulders, signed Cartier, numbered AX3130, Swiss assay mark, comes complete with the Cartier case. This eye-catching ring by the iconic brand has an estimate of £1,500 - £2,000 in Roseberys auction.

Another highlight ring in the sale is lot 251. The diamond and brown diamond ring is by Theo Fennell, a jewellers selling quirky designer jewels and silverware, offering bespoke commissions. The central collet-set princess-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.50 carats, has a channel-set princess-cut diamond surround, to baguette diamond tapering five stone shoulders, maker's mark for Theo Fennell and comes complete the with the maker's case. This ring has been entered into the sale with a price point of £1,500 - £2,000
