We are delighted to be working once again with the Estate of Agi Katz, founder and director of Boundary Gallery, on this special sale focused on the work of her close friend Josef Herman (1911-2000). This is one of the best Herman collections to ever come to auction, and includes ‘The Miner, Ystradgynlais, 1948’ (lot 14) and ‘Miner in Landscape’ (lot 12). There will also be pieces by other important émigré artists including Alfred Wolmark, Henryk Gotlib and Margarete 'Grete' Marks. We are very pleased to be selling Herman’s ‘Refugees: Three Figures and Child, Glasgow, 1940-41’ (lot 16) on behalf of The Refugee Council.
