Lot 898

Description

Xbox by Gucci.

A hundred years of Gucci, a complete set of brand-new Xbox Series X by Gucci, editioned 53/100. To include a vintage-inspired travel case in Gucci monogram, trimmed with yellow calfskin leather, featuring a bold green “XBOX” logo and the phrase “GOOD GAME” on each side, the interior of the case is quilted with the iconic Xbox green, with a detachable storage shelving unit; the console is laser‑engraved with GG‑pattern, and the matte black Xbox Series X is fully engraved with Gucci’s iconic “GG” monogram motif, with a UK socket plug. Further accompanied by an Xbox Game Pass, authenticity cards and a Gucci 100-year canvas tote bag.

Please note that the Xbox Game Pass duration is not specified by Gucci.

Notes:

In a landmark collaboration bridging luxury fashion and next-generation gaming, Gucci and Xbox unveiled this ultra-limited Xbox Series X console bundle in 2021 to mark two major anniversaries: 100 years of Gucci and 20 years of Xbox. Limited to just 100 individually numbered sets worldwide, the bundle was available exclusively through select Gucci flagships—London, Milan, New York, Tokyo, and Beijing—and sold out immediately upon release.

Merging Gucci’s iconic design language with Xbox’s technological prowess, the console is laser-engraved with Gucci’s signature “GG” motif—a clever dual reference to Guccio Gucci and the gaming phrase “Good Game.” The set includes two custom controllers adorned with Gucci’s red-and-blue Web stripe and a bespoke Gucci hard carry case, styled in vintage monogram canvas with yellow leather trim and boldly emblazoned with “XBOX” and “GOOD GAME.” The presentation evokes both retro travel trunks and high-fashion statement pieces.

Literature:

Published on Gucci homepage, stating that in the year of the House’s centennial, Gucci and video gaming brand Xbox—now reaching its 20th birthday—come together to celebrate their respective anniversaries with a limited-edition collaboration. Published on V Magazine Mens Editorial, commented as 'Combining Xbox’s futuristic aesthetics with Gucci’s lux designs, Gucci x Xbox is nothing but opulent. The result of the collaboration consists of an exclusive console that is laser-engraved with a GG-pattern. Matching in style is the console’s controller, which is black in color with a red and blue Web stripe wrapped around it. Both are minimal in design, yet eclectic at the same time.
