Lot 797

Description

Philip Treacy.

A vintage black sinamay fascinator with a detachable red poppy, circa 1999, the base of the hat is crafted from fine woven sinamay; further, the decoration features multiple black quills that arch gracefully from the layered and looped rosettes shaped to resemble full-bloom peonies or open garden roses; the detachable poppy accompanied with a 'STEYER' label, the organza petals with circular velvet design to the stigma, comes with the original box and wrapping

Grade A-B

Notes:

Renowned British-Irish milliner Philip Treacy is celebrated for his sculptural and imaginative headwear, blending technical mastery with theatrical elegance. His hats have graced the heads of royalty, celebrities, and fashion icons, including the late Princess Diana, Lady Gaga, and Sarah Jessica Parker, and have been a mainstay on the runways of Alexander McQueen, Chanel, and Valentino. Treacy’s distinctive style redefines millinery through bold silhouettes, refined craftsmanship, and a seamless balance between fashion and fantasy.
