Lot 339

Description

After John Frederick Herring, Junior,
British 1815-1907-

Horses in a stableyard;

oil on canvas, 45.7 x 76 cm.

Provenance:
Private Collection, UK.

Note:
The present work appears to be after a composition by Herring which sold at Ansorena, Madrid, on 24 July 2017, lot 34.

This painting is typical of Herring Junior's equestrian scenes, which were heavily influenced by those of his father, John Frederick Herring Senior (1795-1865), with whom he also often collaborated.
