Description
A French gold-mounted enamel scent bottle, associated 18th century elements, of tapering form, the hinged cover with three-colour floral decoration, the white enamel with gilt cherubs, a bust of a man and trophies, 8.2cm high, in associated leather case, 2.7cm wide, 2cm deep
Condition Report
As noted in the catalogue description, this scent bottle has associated elements. The cover and enamel panels are of different manufacture. The front enamel panel with a horizontal crack beneath the profile bust. The panel to the reverse with hardly visible hairline fractures towards the foot. The bottle to the interior has losses to the top beneath the gilt stopper cover. The stopper finial has been broken and ground down. It is also stuck in position. There is a glass block beneath the bottle to fill the space.
General wear overall. The leather case is associated with general wear and tear. The space for the scent bottle is too big.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding. Export licences are issued by Arts Council England and application forms can be obtained from its Export Licensing Unit. The need for import licences varies from country to country and you should acquaint yourself with all relevant local requirements and provisions before bidding.
