Lot 30

Description

A pair of novelty silver 'Dutch doll' sugar nips.

Cohen & Charles,

London, c.1930.

Designed with an enamelled head to silver body, operated by squeezing the mannequin's arms together to manipulate the legs, 9.5cm long, approx. weight 1.2ozt

The sugar nips are in good overall condition commensurate with age. Some minor scratching, nicking and pitting to the silver. Some wear and losses to the enamel on face. The doll's face appears to have been re-enamelled and re-painted. The legs move as intended but do not quite meet in the middle - one moves a little more than the other. Hallmarks a little rubbed but generally legible. A small dab of paint/enamel on reverse of one arm. A video and further images available to download via this link: https://we.tl/t-MpZouaOelx
