A medieval repousse and engraved copper alloy candle stick,
Ilkhanid revival style, 20th century,
A register of leaping felines, canines and ibexes against scrollwork, a calligraphic register below a register of seated lions above, Spink label applied to inside wall
30.5cm. high
Condition Report
Dented, split, some losses. Inside dirt incrustation overall. Light corrosion (possibly active). Spink label firmly applied.

This lot is likely inspired from a copper and silver inlaid brass candlestick kept at the Freer Gallery of Art, (inventory no. 51.17), attributed to Khorasan and dated 13th century.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
