Description
A blue and white pottery scribe's penbox,
Safavid Iran, 18th century,
Of oblong form, on raised bracket feet, the sides decorated with an abstract design of interlacing vine and tendrils and looses cartouches, the lid with large medallion filled with lines and interlacing bands, a repeating leaf design to rim, interior with fitted compartment to one end for ink,
22.5 x 9.4cm.
Condition Report
The lid shows one chip to its edge. This lot is otherwise in very good condition.

£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%

Export of goods
