Description
An enthroned ruler converses with a vassal,
Revival style, North India,
Opaque pigments on paper, under a canopy, facing each other, a flywhisk bearer standing to his side, two courtiers seating in front of them, a lota on a tripod and a parrot perched on its cage in the foreground, laid on card between laid black, red and blue rules, wide plain borders in blue rules, the reverse with various reference numbers and notes in older and recent hands, in blue ink and pencil

Condition Report
The edges and corners are in fair to poor condition. the upper edge's reverse is stained and shows heavy trace of previous glue or tape. The lower corners are stained, repaired. the upper corner show traces of previous tape. This work is stained overall. Staining affects the painting and can be especially seen near the enthroned ruler's head, near the throne and the seated figures, to the narrow and wider borders. Upon closer inspection, one can notice some light flakes of pigments losses and light discolouration. The reverse is lightly creased.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding. Export licences are issued by Arts Council England and application forms can be obtained from its Export Licensing Unit.
