oil on board, signed with monogram lower left and dated lower right '59', 57 x 31 cm: together with the following 7 items,
'Portrait of Jenny Trevelyan (Jennifer Sandler), 1961' (with 'Joel Goldsmith in Meditation' on the reverse), pen and black ink, signed with initials and dated '61';
a gelatin silver print of the finished work in oils, 'Portrait of Jenny Trevelyan (Jennifer Sandler)';

Note:
of portrait of Jenny Trevelyan by Peter Wilfred Rogers was exhibited at Arthur Tooth and Sons, London, 'To-day and Yesterday: British Painting', September 1960 (according to a copy of the exhibition catalogue). The lead work relates to Rogers's painting 'Mother and Child, 1961' now in Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.
Jenny Trevelyan had a long and full ballet career. From 1950-53 she performed with The Royal Ballet, Continental Ballet and Covent Garden Opera Ballet, and as a soloist from 1954-60.
She went on to set up the Jenny Trevelyan School of Dancing in London and other dance troupes within the community, where her creativity and inspiring sprit shone.

Buyer's Premium
The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
