Four detached folios from a calligraphy album,
Iran, 17th century and later including one with the ostensible signature of Ahmad al-Nayrizi and date 1114AH/1703AD.,
Two works laid within wide light green borders with thin gold and black rules, the first with an illuminated frontispiece, the headboard (sarlawh) with central lobed cartouche in gold left plain, lobed medallions above and below amidst scrolling floral tendrils on blue ground, verses of the Qur'an below, 5ll. of black script, polychrome dotted gold roundels as verse markers, slanted marginal annotations below giving a string of numerals 0, 8 and 3 (٣, ٨, ٠), possibly a date, interlinear gold ground within black and pink thin margins ; the second with 6ll. of similar script on similar ground, within thin white margins, flanked by four calligraphic panels in black script, two other panels above and below in red script, each within similar thin margins, the whole within black and pink margins within thing gold and black rules ; and two works laid within wide pink borders within thin gold and black rules, each in black ink shikasteh script, the first with 6ll. of script in bolder strokes interspersed with 5ll. of thinner calligraphy, the second with 5ll. of script, the interlinear space laid with plain rectangular headers either side a plain column

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding. Export licences are issued by Arts Council England and application forms can be obtained from its Export Licensing Unit.
