A group of European Palaeolithic and Neolithic stone tools and implements,
including a polished black stone axe, 16cm, Hattatt collection, no. 1909, an ink inscribed label: ‘Neolithic polished axe-head of unusual shape from Wooler, Northumberland’; a roughly hewn grey flint tool, 11cm, Hattatt collection no.1105, ink inscription on one side: ‘Early Bronze Age party ground flint hand chisel (British Mus: Verified), Beachy Head Sussex, accompanied by a stand with printed label; a brown flint implement, 14.5cm, Hattatt collection no. 994, ink inscription on one side: ‘Whittling knife, Neolithic c.3000 B.C. from Le Grand Pressigny famous flint mines, 35m. Sth of Tours, France Typical example of that stone’, ‘ Couteau Neolithiques Loc: Grand Pressigny France, 1977’; a grey stone implement, 12.5cm, Hattatt collection no.1168, ink inscription on one end: ‘Craig Llwyd, Neolithic Pick, c.3000 B.C., Augite-Granophyre stone, found at the axe-factory site of Craig Llwyd N.Wales’, the previous two implements accompanied by a stand with printed label; a porcellanite axe, 9cm, Hattatt collection no.1068, white ink inscribed on one side: ‘Neolithic axe porcellanite stone from axe factory site of Tievebulliagh Antrim, N. Ireland.’; a grey flint scraper, 9 x 7cm, Hattatt collection no.1923, black ink inscribed on one side: ‘Neolithic large horned flint shaft scraper. Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding. Export licences are issued by Arts Council England and application forms can be obtained from its Export Licensing Unit.
