Footnote
An important figure in 20th-century avant-garde architecture and design, Alessandro Guerriero co-founded Studio Alchimia with his sister Adriana in 1976. Together they formed a design collective with a revolving cast of members including Alessandro Mendini, Bruno Gregori, Giorgio Gregori, Arturo Reboldi, Pier Carlo Bontempi and Carla Ceccariglia. The ground-breaking group worked across various media, approaching creativity and innovation through dialogue and experimentation whilst challenging the norms of form and function.

In 1982 Alchimia was awarded the Compasso d'Oro for research in design. Among their most important commissions are the Stanza Del Secolo in the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, the Mobile Infinito at the Museum of Modern Art of Tokyo, and the Fin-de-Siecle room at the Centre George Pompidou.
