Description

A group of silver and white metal items. 

Various dates and makers. 

The group comprising: an Edwardian silver twin-handled bowl, London, 1909, Philip Hanson Abbot (maker's mark rubbed), the planished body of circular form and raised on a circular foot, 17cm wide; a George III silver cream jug, London, 1818, Thomas & George Hayter (maker's mark partially rubbed), of shaped, rectangular form and raised on four ball feet, angular handle to gadrooned border, crest and motto engraved to side and traces of gilding to interior, approx. 14.5cm wide; an Edwardian silver teapot, London, 1907, William Comyns & Sons, of shaped rectangular form with reeded banding along the body, engraved with bird crest to one side and initials and date to other, ebonised handle and finial to hinged cover, 28.5cm wide; a Victorian silver mustard pot, marks rubbed, the body of baluster form engraved with scrolling floral and foliate motifs, liner deficient, 7cm high: a George IV silver mustard spoon, London, 1826, William M. Traies, with crest engraved to terminal, 11.2cm long; a silver quaich, Sheffield, 1916, William Hutton & Sons, the plain body engraved with crest to side, 13.8cm wide (inc. handles); and a white metal Turkish rosewater sprinkler, first half of the 20th century, the foot stamped 900, the pear-shaped body apparently unmarked and chased with scrolling floral motifs, the stopper modelled as a branch, 15cm high (inc. stopper), total weighable silver approx. 39.4ozt (7) 

 

Buyer's Premium

The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

VAT is not charged on the hammer price unless it is stated that there is 'VAT applicable on the hammer price at the end of the description. Buyer's premium is subject to VAT.
(ARR) - ARTIST'S RESALE RIGHT

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods

Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding. Export licences are issued by Arts Council England and application forms can be obtained from its Export Licensing Unit. The need for import licences varies from country to country and you should acquaint yourself with all relevant local requirements and provisions before bidding. The refusal of any such licences shall not permit the cancelling of any sale nor allow any delay in making full payment for the lot.
