Description

A Vienna porcelain purple-ground twin handled beaker and saucer and a Vienna style porcelain turquoise-ground coffee can and saucer, 19th century, the decoration of the twin handled beaker probably c.1805, blue shield marks, the cup impressed 804, the saucer impressed 96, the cup of Meissen form, the ground reserved with two oval panels stippled with scenes from the story of Cupid and Psyche after Angelica Kauffmann, within oval gilt band cartouches with raised stiff leaf ornament, against a seeded central gilt border reserved with twisting floral panels and edged with foliage, the saucer with a similar border around a central medallion, the cup 8.2cm high, the saucer 12.7cm diameter; the Vienna style coffee can and saucer with pseudo blue shield marks, the can reserved with an oval panel painted with Bacchus and Ariadne after Angelica Kauffmann, with Ariadne naked and seated below a canopy next a satyr pouring wine to her side, against pink bands and a broad band of raised gilt arabesques painted with lion supporters, the interior richly gilt, the saucer with a similar border centred by pink panels with vases flanked by lion supporters, the cup 6.5cm high, the saucer 13.2cm diameter (4)

Buyer's Premium

The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500
