A large triptych after a painting by Nainsukh of Guler, Musicians playing a Raga for Balwant Dev Singh during the Rainy Season
India, the original painting Jasrota, circa 1745-50, the triptych second half 20th century
Opaque pigments on canvas in three parts, the prince wearing a pink achkan secured by a maroon and gold patka and pearl jewelry, holding a huqqa pipe and gesturing to woman facing him dressed in orange and holding a tanpura, both shielded by umbrellas carried by attendants and accompanied by groups of men dressed in white jama, to the left musicians bearing various instruments and to the right his attendants, including the artist at lower right
Each panel 230cm high x 115cm diam; overall 230cm high x 345cm. diam.
This large triptych is copied after the reknown work by Nainsukh of Guler Nainsukh (circa 1710-78) Musicians playing a Raga for Balwant Dev Singh during the Rainy Season which was sold at Christie's 21 May 2008 Lot 507 for $2.25million and which was acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Buyer's Premium
The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
