Lot Footnotes
Note: The 'Dukatenscheisser', or more politely, 'Dukatenmacher', is a variation on the 'Dukatenesel', which originates from the fairy tale 'The Wishing-Table, the Gold-Ass, and the Cudgel in the Sack' (Tischlein deck dich, Goldesel und Knüppel aus dem Sack) by the Brothers Grimm, in which one of three sons receives a magical donkey able to produce gold out of its mouth and behind on command. A famous example of a 'Dukatenscheisser' can be found on the facade of the Hotel Kaiserworth in Gosler, where according to tradition it was erected as a reminder for defaulting debtors to pay off their debts as quickly as possible. Alternatively, the phrase 'Dukatenscheisser' may be used to describe someone who creates or earns unlimited money, or someone who is well versed in finance and money matters, and knows how to increase their money.
