Description

An intact buff pottery cup with ring handle,

North Iran, Circa early-late 2nd Millennium B.C.,

the umber decoration on a buff-coloured background is arranged in horizontal panels divided by parallel encircling bands, pale pinkish-brown slip between the bands, the top panel with two rows of hatched triangles with meeting apices forming a double-axe design with unpainted diamond shapes between them, the lower register with a zig-zag design, the interior of the mouth rim is decorated with a band of reddish paint and two groups of diagonal parallel stripes, North West Iran, Sakkizabad, circa early -late 2nd Millennium B.C., 10.1cm  high

UK private collection; acquired by the vendor in 1963 in Iran.

Buyer's Premium

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

0 to €50,000 - 4%, €50,000.01 to €200,000 - 3%
€200,000.01 to €350,000 - 1%,
€350,000.01 to €500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding €500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at €12,500
