Description

To Be Sold With No Reserve

A turquoise blue glazed globular pottery jug,

Kashan, central Iran, 12th century

On short conical foot, the globular body rising to a flaring neck, with vertical black slip strokes decoration, the straight handle with flat thumb rest, very good condition

20.8cm. high

Provenance: Property from a Private London Collection acquired prior to 1979

This lot is near intact. It short foot is chipped. Iridescence is present overall. As can be seen in the catalogue illustration the glaze shows craquelure and an attractive iridescence overall.

Buyer's Premium

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

0 to €50,000 - 4%, €50,000.01 to €200,000 - 3%
€200,000.01 to €350,000 - 1%,
€350,000.01 to €500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding €500,000 - 0.25%
