Description
Taqi al-Din Ahmad ibn 'Ali al-Maqrizi (d. 845AH/1441AD): al-durrah al-bahirah fi tarikh Misr wa khitatahu al-'amirah Part IV, Ottoman Provinces, probably Egypt, AH 9[5]0/1552AD, Arabic manuscript on paper, 68ff., with 15ll. of clear sepia naskh to the page, some headers in red, the final part of Maqrizi’s important architectural and social history of Cairo and Egypt, in contemporary brown morocco binding with tooled medallion, folio 22.2 x 16cm.
Further volumes this manuscript were sold at Christies Part II on 11 April 2000, Lot 25; Part III at Christie's, 12 October 1999, lot 30. Part I of another of version dated to 966AH/1558AD was sold 14 October, 1997, Lot 76. GAL II 48.

Buyer's Premium
The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding.
