James Quarterman is a graduate of both the University of Birmingham and the University of Cambridge, with a BA (Hons) and an MPhil in the History of Art and Architecture. James joined Roseberys as a Saleroom Porter and Technician in October 2019, working for the Works of Art, Clocks and Sculpture, and Ceramics and Glass departments, and assisting with sales across all specialist departments. In July 2020, James was promoted to the position of Junior Cataloguer and Trainee Valuer. Before Roseberys, James worked for three years as a Porter and Saleroom Assistant at Biddle & Webb Ltd. in Birmingham, cataloguing antiques and collectables, wine & spirits, and affordable art. James has a wide range of interests in the art and antiques markets, with a particular focus on Old Master Sculpture, the subject of his research at Cambridge.
