Studio Pottery

The Studio Pottery market is growing at a pace quicker than ever before and represents a collecting field of beautiful hand-crafted pieces and exciting discovery.

Roseberys offers studio pottery, crafts and art glass from 1860 through to the present day as a component of the Design auctions.

The sale includes objects at a variety of price points that represent the history and breadth of studio pottery, from its developmental years of the early 20th century, through to modern and contemporary ceramics. The sale regularly features works made in the Leach Tradition, as well as modernist pots by celebrated names such as Lucie Rie and Deirdre Burnett.

Recent auction highlights for studio pottery have included ‘RCA-136’, an asymmetric, banded stoneware vessel by Jennifer Lee (£22,100), a fine sgraffito decorated porcelain vase by Lucie Rie (£9,750), a tall stylised sculpture of a cat by James Tower (£4,680), a large stoneware jar by Japanese potter Shōji Hamada (£3,936), and a single-owner collection of studio pottery consigned directly from the studio of Deirdre Burnett.
