Junior Cataloguer & Trainee Valuer: General Valuations
Roseberys are seeking a diligent, enthusiastic and passionate person to join our General Valuations team as a junior cataloguer and trainee valuer. This is a full-time position and based in-house within the auction rooms.
Overview & Responsibilities
To catalogue and manage the bi-monthly Traditional & Modern Home auctions, provide in house valuations and to assist with the tri-annual Fine & Decorative auctions, responsibilities to include:
- Cataloguing lots, mainly in the areas of ceramics, works of art, collectibles and clocks
- Undertaking valuations in the auction house and by email
- Writing catalogue notes
- Conducting condition reports
- Managing and undertaking photography and editing for Home sales
- Adhering to deadlines
- Proof reading
- Curating the order of the auction
- Liaising with clients regarding pre and post-sale enquiries
- Assisting to prepare the auction room for viewings and ensure lotting up is completed on time
- Helping to set the auction room up for sales
- Managing re-entries of unsold lots
- Providing assistance where required for Head of Sale for Fine & Decorative Arts Auctions
- Internet clerking for auctions

Furniture Saleroom Manager & Cataloguer/Junior Valuer
Roseberys are seeking a diligent, enthusiastic and passionate person to join our furniture department as saleroom manager and cataloguer/junior valuer. This is a full-time position and based in-house within the auction rooms.
Overview & Responsibilities
To catalogue and manage the furniture sections of the bi-monthly Traditional & Modern Home auctions, the tri-annual Fine & Decorative auctions, to provide in house valuations to clients in person and by email, and to oversee the management and organisation of the furniture saleroom and incoming deliveries.
Main responsibilities include:
Cataloguing & Valuing
- Cataloguing furniture lots
- Undertaking valuations in the auction house and by email
- Writing catalogue notes
- Conducting condition reports
- Managing the photography for the furniture sections of auctions
- Adhering to deadlines
- Proof reading
- Curating the order of the auction
- Liaising with clients regarding pre and post-sale enquiries
Saleroom Duties and Management
- Daily manual handling of heavy furniture
- Receiving and managing incoming deliveries including checking off against contracts
- Managing the logistics of inhouse and offsite furniture storage areas to ensure smooth stock rotation and careful handling of goods
- Assisting to prepare the auction room for viewings and ensure lotting up is completed on time
- Helping to set the auction room up for sales
- Managing re-entries of unsold lots
- Internet clerking for auctions
