Description

Six English brown salt-glaze stoneware jars, 19th century, comprising: three cylindrical tobacco jars, the largest with pewter hinged lid and sprigged with grapes and figures, 15.4cm high, the second sprigged with topers, the domed cover with moulded grapevine, 13.6cm high, the third sprigged with vacant label and Royal arms, with a later cover, 10cm high, a snuff jar, of typical form, sprigged with a snuff taker below a vacant label, with grapevines to the top shoulder and foot, impressed 2 to the rim, 16.5cm high, a preserve jar, of cylindrical form with tapering neck, impressed I C Hoffmann Black Currant Jelly, 17.6cm high, and a baluster form jar, sprigged with vacant label and Royal arms, 20.8cm high (6)

Buyer's Premium

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods

Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding. Export licences are issued by Arts Council England and application forms can be obtained from its Export Licensing Unit.
