Lot 334
Description
Peter Saville,
British b.1955-
'Unknown Pleasures' Skatedecks, 2005;
Two Peter Saville for Supreme wooden painted skatedecks,
each one 79 x 20 cm,
(ARR)
(2)
Note: These painted colourways are the reverse of each other, it's very rare to have both the black and white and the white and black versions sold as a pair. They feature artwork from the Peter Saville designed album cover of Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. These were released partly to mark the 25th anniversary of the death of Ian Curtis, the lead vocalist of Joy Division and New Order. (The New Order ones were known as the Blue Monday Series) They are part of Supreme’s early era of artist collaborations, which helped define its identity.
