Erró (Guðmundur Guðmundsson),
Icelandic b.1932 -
... Atomica, 1956;

This early work by the artist, made when he was living in Italy, shows him exploring the language of Post-War Cubism, playing with interior space and collapsing the figures and objects into geometric shapes. The artist is now best known for his Pop Art paintings and collages, and is one of the most important Icelandic artists working today. The Reykjavik Arts Museum holds a large number of his works and recent major exhibitions include a retrospective at Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon in 2015.
