Lot 767

Description

John Boyd.

A Folded Fez, designed with asymmetrical folds accompanied by an imitation pearl hat pin, comes with the hat and hat pin only

Grade A

Provenance: An Important Private Collection.

Notes: A milliner for more than 75 years, John Boyd combined timeless elegance with an instinct for modern fashion. He was the first man to put fashionable hats on Lady Diana Spencer, helping shape her emergence as the world’s most influential style icon of the 1980s. Known for his soft pastels, delicate trims and perfectly balanced proportions, Boyd dressed three generations of royal women, from Princess Margaret to the Duchess of Cambridge. His legacy endures in his ability to keep millinery at the heart of both society style and royal presentation.
