A Middle Eastern landscape with figures and camels resting;
watercolour heightened with white on paper, signed and dated 'P. Pascal 1880.' (lower right), 16 x 24.4 cm.

Note:
Pascal was a prolific artist, who conceived a number of views of the Middle East and the Mediterranean coast in particular, as well as the American landscape after moving to the United States in 1893. The present watercolour recalls similar works by Pascal which sold at William Doyle, New York, on 10 December 2024, lot 11 ($1,024), and at Horta, Brussels, 22 January 2024, lot 92 (€750 hammer).

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.
It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods
