Mirza Saeed Khan Ansari was foreign minister to the emperor Nasr al-Din Sah. He is one of the signatory of the Akhal Treaty (or the Akhal-Khorasan Boundary Convention), where the Atrek river was set as a boundary between Imperial Russia and Persia. Moreover, a separate document ensured Persia relinquished any claims on Transoxiana and Turkestan confining it to only the southernmost coast of the Caspian sea after the previous 1828 Treaty of Turkmenchay. The Akhal Treaty and its separate clauses were signed in Tehran on 21 September 1881.
