Description

A compilation of wisdom from many books,
copied for Ahmed Aga Mirza Muhammad Taqi-khan and completed in AH 1332/1913-14 AD, 

Persian manuscript on paper, 18ff., 4fl., 9ll. of elegant black nasta'liq script within gold cloud to the page, each folio interspersed with bound thin opaque protective paper, profusely illuminated opening bifolio with double cusped cupola filled with flowers and interlocking tendrils, in orange rules, the bismillah below in back nasta'liq within white rectangular panel, the latter and former ruled in green, 6ll. of similar script below, the whole in plain, gold and red rule picked in white, the margins with dense floral decoration within gold medallions and strapwork against a floral field reserved in blue, headings in blue nasta'liq script within lobed cartouches, floral spandrels, ruled in black and picked in green, the text panel bordered in gold and red picked in white and ruled in blue, wider floral scroll works bearing polychrome flowers, the whole double ruled in black, thin plain borders, tight text block, in earlier lacquered papier-mâché covers, each with quatrefoil within lobed cartouches, cusped arches above and below, dense interlocking polychrome floral and leaved tendrils against gold yellow field, narrow deep red borders with minute gold quatrefoils, ruled in gold and black, gold foliated strapwork margins against black, the inside with bold gold floral spray double ruled in gold against red field, very clean copy overall

Buyer's Premium

The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

(ARR) - ARTIST'S RESALE RIGHT

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500

Export of goods

Buyers intending to export goods should ascertain whether an export licence is required before bidding.
