Description

Dutch river scene with figures unloading boats;
oil on board, signed 'Gudrun Sibbons' (lower right), 35.3 x 53.2 cm. ARR.
Provenance:
Private Collection, UK.
Note:
Although Sibbons studied art in her native Germany, her paintings are clearly most heavily indebted to the Dutch landscape and maritime tradition, very much recalling the works of artists Salomon van Ruysdael (1602-1670) and Hermanus Koekkoek (1815-1882).
