Description

A group of Amlash and Iranian pottery 

North Iran, late 2nd – mid 1st Millennium B.C.

comprising a large intact Amlash grey pottery flask, of globular form with tall cylindrical neck flaring towards the rim, a small ring handle joins the neck to the shoulder, impressed and incised decoration around the lower neck and shoulder, 24.5cm. high; An intact Amlash grey pottery jug, with rope design to neck, quite thick-walled but evenly potted with a wide, cone-shaped neck, raised ridge running round the base of the neck where it joins the body decorated with thick vertical grooves either impressed or incised, wheel-made, 19.2cm. high; An intact Amlash orange-brown pottery vessel, with globular body, out-turned rim and a horizontal looped handle at the shoulder, 8.5cm high; An intact North Iranian grey pottery hemispherical trough-spouted bowl, fine light grey, smooth body with patches or iron stain, almost hemispherical, evenly potted and with a slightly convex flattened area on the base, the rim of the vessel is slightly turned in, 15.2cm. diam x 7.3cm. high; An intact grey pottery globular flask, with funnel neck and side loop handle, decorated with small impressed strokes around the shoulder, 15.7cm high; An intact buff pottery cup with ring handle, the umber decoration on a buff-coloured background is arranged in horizontal panels divided by parallel encircling bands, 10.1cm  high; and An intact dark grey pottery jug with rat-tail handle, the long, narrow neck, slightly flared at the rim, the body swells to a broad uneven flat base, late 2nd – early 1st Millennium B.C., 13cm high (7)

Buyer's Premium

The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium thereon of 26% up to £20,000 (31.2% inclusive of VAT), 25% from £20,001 - £500,000 (30% inclusive of VAT), 20% from £500,001 thereafter (24% inclusive of VAT). The premium price is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

Qualifying living artists and the descendants of artists deceased within the last 70 years are entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each time their work is bought through an auction house or art market professional.

It applies to lots with hammer value over £1,000 as follows:
0 to £50,000 - 4%
£50,000.01 to £200,000 - 3%
£200,000.01 to £350,000 - 1%
£350,000.01 to £500,000 - 0.5%
Exceeding £500,000 - 0.25%
ARR is capped at £12,500
