Description

AMENDMENT: this work is not registered with the Fondazione Lucio Fontana, Milano, March 2009 as previously catalogued
Lucio Fontana,
Italian 1899-1968 -

Concetto Spaziale 476, 1966;

grattage on paper, signed lower right 'L Fontana', 56.5 x 44 cm (ARR)

Provenance:
Galerie Burén, Stockholm (according to the label attached to the reverse of the frame);

Stockholms Auktionsverk, Modern Art - Works of Art, 28th October 2010, lot 1206;
private collection, UK

Note:
'Concetto Spaziale 476, 1966’ is an iconic example of Fontana’s work, with his signature punctures of the pictorial surface which playfully evoke a sense of the celestial void.

The next committee meeting of the Fondazione Lucio Fontana, Milano is February/March 2025.
