Lot 155

Description

Thomas Kent Pelham,
British c.1831-1907-

A lady collecting flowers in her bonnet;

oil on canvas, signed with monogram 'TKP' (lower right), 74.8 x 60.5 cm.

Provenance:
Private Collection, UK.

Note:
Pelham's oeuvre consists largely of genre paintings and charming figure studies. He often depicted his subjects in rural Mediterranean settings, who are clothed in elaborate regional dress. The present work almost establishes the viewer as a passer-by, greeted by the sitter as they interrupt her brief moment of rest from collecting flowers in her bonnet.

VAT
VAT is not charged on the hammer price unless it is stated that there is 'VAT applicable on the hammer price at the end of the description. Buyer's premium is subject to VAT.
