St Augustine’s Church, One Tree Hill, Honor Oak Park, are holding an Antiques Valuation Day in conjunction with Roseberys Auctioneers & Valuers, South London’s premier antique and fine art auction house, where, for a nominal fee per item, people can get their heirlooms, treasures and boot-fair finds appraised and valued. Should anyone wish to sell their items, Rosebery’s experts will be happy to advise them.
At St. Augustine’s we think of ourselves as having a ‘living heritage’. The ‘heritage’ is the knowledge of, and appreciation for, our past and how our life here has been a help to the life of the whole community. The ‘living’ aspect reminds us to always seek new ways of being involved with and working for the community around us in the present. By knowing the value of the past we are encouraged to attend to the present.
All of us have a living heritage, often symbolized in the treasures and heirlooms that have been passed down to us. Some of these may even have shaped who we are right now. So bring these along on June 27th and as they are ‘valued’, let us know what value they have been to you in your life, past and present.
Refreshments and light lunches will be available throughout the day. This event is being organised to raise funds for St Augustine’s Living Heritage Fund. Come along for an interesting day at this beautiful church where Friends of One Tree Hill will be able to tell you more about the historic wooded hillside and its wildlife, with the finest views of London south of the river.
